Illustrated SAR Test 9: Runaway cont’d, Reaction to Strange Object

Search & Rescue Test, page 9

Runaway, continued The tester shows pup food or a toy, gets its interest, then runs away. She observes how eagerly the pup comes and how naturally it uses its nose to find her once she hides.

Mr. Blue from the ii litter, tested at 51 days (Comanche)

Reaction to Strange Objects They set up a kiddie trampoline next to an agility pause table, with a collapsible plastic barrel on its side forming a tunnel coming off the pause table. They threw a toy through the tunnel to see if the pup would go through – either off the table into the tunnel or from the tunnel onto the table. Only Janet gave any ratings on this (Bonnie had used to score hunt for toy).
