Hesed 10 years 8 months old.  Varoom! is 3 years 11 months old

I hoped to get photos of my crew before the fall colors were over.  Two weeks of heavy rain didn’t help any, but I finally had a day of decent weather when I was home, so I tried.  There wasn’t a lot of tree color yet, but the grasses around my fence-post pile had dried to a beautiful light-gold color that sure captured the sunlight. I hadn’t been able to get a handyman all summer, so the grass hadn’t been cut down, which I usually do to prevent the dogs getting grass seeds in their ears.  To get the colors AND have the sun behind me, I had to use an area that slopes downhill.  It did make for some interesting photos of them coming uphill!  I was pleased that most of my kids showed off the beautiful reach they have in front from their great shoulders – we breeders work very hard to get excellent 90-degree angle shoulder conformation!

The light was particularly interesting during Hesed’s and Varoom!’s playtime. Clouds had mostly obscured the sun, darkening the light, but the sun managed to send a few golden rays which beautifully lit up my two golden girls.  Hesed doesn’t like individual playtimes, so I pair the two, mother and daughter.   Today she somehow lost her ball, and I couldn’t find it.  I have two spare balls in a pouch on my chair, but once she has a ball, she refuses a substitute.  So she spent most of the play session chasing Varoom! while Varoom! retrieved her ball.  I was amazed at how many photos showed them perfectly in step with each other.  The first five photos show Hesed.  I never managed to get any photos of just Varoom!, but they sure had fun.
