Hopeful at Morning Playtime

I’ve been hoping to get photos of my crew before the fall colors were over. Two weeks of heavy wind and rain didn’t help any, but I finally had a day of decent weather when I was home, so I tried. There wasn’t a lot of tree color yet, but the grasses around my fence-post pile had dried to a beautiful light-gold color that sure captured the sunlight. I hadn’t been able to get a handyman all summer, so the grass hadn’t been cut down, which I usually do to prevent the dogs getting grass seeds in their ears. To get the colors AND have the sun behind me, I had to use an area that slopes downhill. It did make for some interesting photos of them coming uphill! I was pleased that most of my kids showed off the beautiful reach they have in front from their great shoulders – we breeders work very hard to get excellent 90-degree angle shoulder conformation!
I absolutely LOVE the first photo. Look at those teeth!!!
It’s still warm enough that I have the dogs’ pools out. Towards the end of her play session, I got some great photos of Hopeful shedding water everywhere.
