Ak’is 10 Weeks on the Puppy Obstacle Run

Ak’is on the Puppy Obstacle Run
10 weeks old

Since so many of my pups go for Search and Rescue – and work in rough country, I created Puppy Obstacle Run to teach them how to navigate gracefully.  The Run includes things to walk over, skirt around, go under, push through AND they have to learn to look for openings or the best (often illogical) way to go around something.  I haven’t had a litter for nearly three years, so the Run needed to be redone. Thankfully, I kept saving big Tide and Downey bottles, which make great items to push through, so I had enough to rebuild the Run.  The only problem with them is that they shine so brightly in the sun that it makes photography difficult.

A friend came out to help me run Ak’is on the completed obstacle course.  This was the first time that Ak’is worked the Obstacle Run.

The Obstacle Run is L-shaped, with both “legs” being around 100′ long.  The first leg is pretty level, but the second leg is on a gentle slope.  The pups go down the run, then turn around and come back up.
