Justice at 16 Months
10/14/22

Justice received his Therapy Dog certification from Alliance of Therapy Dogs.  For each of my therapy dogs, I create a “Justice Is Visiting Today” poster for the nursing homes to post on the days he will be visiting.  The residents see the poster, get excited and eagerly look for us to come into the facility. Sometimes staff members and therapists pursue us around the facility in order to get their “puppy fix,” too.  (I also give the schools posters of the dogs who do Reading Dog, which they also post).

For the poster, I needed some “grown up” photos of Justice. I was supposed to go take photos of my friend’s new Sheltie pup this afternoon.  It had been quite a while since I took action shots, so I decided I’d better practice a little. I took my camera with me when we did Justice’s early-morning ball session. It was a beautiful day for photos, the sky crystal clear with that brilliance it gets in the fall. Everything shimmered, including the heads of the native grasses in the far part of our ball area.  After we finished Justice’s ball session, I took him to the front and yards where bushes and trees had particularly nice colors.
