Ak’is Returns to Green House Living
15 Weeks Old
8/27/26
I took Ak’is to Green House Living so the residents could see how he’s growing.
When the residents first met Ak’is, he weighed 19#. Three days before this visit, he weighed 42.6#. The residents were amazed at the difference! And laughed and laughed at his ears. He has started teething, so his ears that were almost straight up are now flopping everywhere. One morning the left ear will stand pretty straight, while the right one goes down; the next day the ears trade who will stand up. Once his molars come in, his ears will come back up, but right now it’s a comedy act.
At Puppy Kindergarten class, Ak’is learned two tricks: to crawl, and to roll over. I tried to get him to perform them for the residents. He loves to roll over, so he willingly did that, but he was distracted by the noise of people talking and moving around and couldn’t concentrate well on crawling.
One photo shows a typical puppy reaction to the tennis balls used on walkers. They try to pick up the ball and can’t understand why they can’t, and they will paw at and bite at it in their efforts. It makes me laugh.
