Jamboree Completes 400th Therapy Dog Visit

Jamboree Earns the Therapy Dog Distinguished Award by Completing her 400th Therapy Dog Visit!!!
Congratulations, Jamboree & Laurie!!!

Jamboree (from the JJ litter – Mercy’s sister), just completed her FOUR HUNDREDTH therapy dog visit, earning the Therapy Dog Distinguished title!!!  I can hardly wait for Laurie to send a picture of the medal that the AKC sends Jamboree!!!  In honor of the award, the school where Jamboree does Reading Dog at all levels (elementary through high school) collected photo permission slips from all the parents so that Laurie could take photos.

Here are comments that Laurie sent with the photos:

“I have permission to share this once to celebrate and promote Reading Dog.

One high school student experienced a fierce dog attack and was very afraid of dogs, but over several months has allowed Jam to slowly get close to him, always on the floor during reading class.  Today, he wanted to help celebrate the 400*visit occasion and allowed Jamboree on the couch close to him. He had conquered his fear of Jamboree!

I love another of the high school students.  He always has 3 books in hand.  He and Jamboree share a very special bond

Another, a graduating senior from Moorcroft, travels to Sundance once a month for continued education classes. His contagious smile lights up the room.”
