Kellan (Celhaus Truehearted Kellan) at 2 years 6 months
Photo 1:  “
First trial this year. 2 days of AKC novice for Kellan. He did a super job. 2 titles and several placement. I couldn’t be more pleased with him. It was a very hit 2 days. I’m going back to my rule of 1 day. (Especially when I’m trialing 3 dogs). We did have fun!
Photo 2:
Another great day with the kid. We went to a NACSW NW1 trial today in North Java, NY. Kellan got his NW1 title (Novice). We were pronounced 3 of of 4. Total time for the 4 searches was 11 1/2 minutes, Kellan’s total time was 1 1/2 minutes.  The overall results are out and Kellan placed 6th out of 47 dogs. What a boy!  Once again I’m very proud of my boy. Comments from the judges: Fantastic, great search and nice off leash search, good control and pattern.
“NW2 is intermediate and NW3 is advanced. I don’t plan on doing NW2 with him until next year. He’s just a young kid and I don’t want to do put a lot of pressure on him. You have to get 3 NW3s to get your NW3 elite title. Then you go to Elite. Then that uses a point system.  You have to get a percentage to keep your points. There are 3 levels. Once you have all your points the that is your Elite championship.  I am taking Kellan slow. Just going to do some fun stuff.
“I can’t tell you the number of compliments I get when I’m out with him. Whether it’s at trials or at Home Depot, he’s always a gentleman.

Talon (Celhaus Take It to the Limit) at 2 years 6 months
“So, we have had a little bit of snow in Casper this past couple of days (26.7”).
Photo 1: This was this morning.  Poor guy couldn’t even get through it to go potty, till Steve shoveled him a spot.
Photo 2: for depth reference.”

Talon at 2 years 5 months
Photos 1-2:  “More snow pictures.  SO MUCH SNOW!!!  I don’t know how he barreled thru all that!”
Photo 3:  “I had so much fun, mom!”

Roxanne (Celhaus Turn On Your Red Light Roxanne) at 2 years 5 months
Roxanne is a Search & Rescue Dog, nationally certified in cadaver.
“The last week for Roxanne was quite busy!  Four airplanes, several escalators, two Air B&Bs, and was deployed on two multi-day missions. She, of course, took everything in stride.”

4/26/23: “Roxanne is doing a Dogs and Donuts” even this Saturday.  She will represent Mesa County SAR and children will be able to take pictures with her, and a couple will “win” a run with her through an obstacle course.  I’ll get pictures.  Grand Junction Police kinda think of her as a PR mascot.”

Lucca (Celhaus Thankful in Montana) at 2 years 5 months
Name Story:  Lucca is a Military Service K9 who was trained to locate EIDs.  Top Dog is a book about her, written by her main and second handlers.  She was adopted by her main handler after an injury forced her retirement.
Photo 1:  “The shepherd curl”
3/25/23:  Photo 2:  “I think Spring is cancelled.  Poor Lucca – the snow was up to her chest this morning.”

Kaia (Celhaus Trinity) at 2 years 5 months
1/10/23 “Happy New year! Praying for a blessed one for all of us.  Had to laugh tonight.  Kaia was sound asleep on her pillow in the other room.  Called ‘Puppy!  Puppy! Puppy!’ to see if she remembered.  She was by my side in 2 seconds flat.   Still need to continue on other commands…”
Photo 1:  “Nobody’s paying attention to me.”
Photo 2:  “Cold with freezing rain so had to skip our second walk and play inside today…”

Kellan at 2 years 4 months
“I took Kellan and Kash to a scent work match on Sunday. Kash is a nosework 3 dog. The container search was for dogs competing in NW1 NW2 and NW3. There were 43 containers, 5 hides and 5 distractors Kash no problem. Kellan did amazing. He had 3 min. Finished in a 1min. 43 sec. No issue with the distractors. He also did great with interiors and the exterior. Very focused. I get comments from people watching him. They say they love to watch him. He’s so smart. I credit you with his start in life, good breeding, and a great start to training. Working with him is effortless.  Also, I called the animal communicator I met in the airport when I came out to pick him up. She said he adores you. (me). She blurted out that he does not want to do barn hunt. He says he’s too smart for that. They said he might like to do cadaver. That’s not happening. I can’t do everything like he can. I wish I had jotted down some questions. I will call her again sometime. I think he has a bright future. I’m having so much fun with him.”

Roxanne at 2 years 2 months
2/27/23:  “Today Roxanne went to small animal classes at the local high school career school.  I discussed search dogs, training and care for them. She wandered around the classroom stealing hearts and then we did a demonstration of her search work.”
2/26/23:  “Early this year, Roxanne worked with another K9 team to try to locate a drowned duck hunter.  Today we got confirmation the duck hunter was exactly where Roxanne and the other team said he was.  Roxanne has her first find!”
“Roxanne being a demo dog at the safety fair, which is when all school kids come to the mall over 2 days and learn about police, electric companies, road safety, etc.  She was probably petted by easily 150 children over the last two days.  She completely reverted to her base training and was perfectly mannered for every encounter.  The kids adore her.”

Roxanne at 2 years 4 months
Photo 1: “Roxanne begging to be worked.  When it’s wet, it’s difficult to go into the desert.  The bentonite clay is slick and vehicles get stuck.”

“Can’t believe my boy is 2 today. We are going to celebrate with Taryn and some others on Wednesday. On Saturday Kellan was in his first NACSW L1V Element trial. 4 searches on vehicles. He got his title and ranked 6th out of 37 dogs. Had 8 minutes (2 minutes for each search). His total time was 1:47. He’s getting so handsome.”

Talon at 2 years
“Happy birthday to our TT kids!  Our boy is doing so awesome and has been such good support thru all of Steve’s continuing health problems-such a love bug.”
Photo 1:  “Talon is surveying his area on the lookout for squirrels.”
Photo 2:  “Not the greatest pic of either of them, but it was the best I could get.”

Talon at 1 year 10 months
Laurie spent a fun day with Steve, Kandi and their trainer, Carol Salverson.  Talon’s assistance tasks were amazing.  Pulls off socks, picks up and brings back cell phone, medicine bag, tennis balls, boxing glove and when told to go find Kandi and gives a paw alert when he is asked to find Kandi.  They also showed off his new, long-awaited, specially made, mobility harness.  They surprised Laurie with a beautiful, handmade crocheted blanket made by Kandi that Talon helped with.
