Talon (Celhaus Take It to the Limit) at 3 years 7 months
Photo 1:  “Talon went to the groomer yesterday, and even got his nails clipped.  New experience for both of us.  She said he was awesome.  This gal was highly recommended and she did a great job. He looked so handsome and was very soft and shiny and smelled good. And was about 5 pounds lighter without all that hair.”
Photo 2:  “And then we played.”

Talon at 3 years 4 months
“I realized I have not sent you pictures for a long time.  I am going to send a few while I am thinking of it.
I know I tell you this about every time we talk, but Talon really is the most amazing, loving, sweetest GSD I have ever been around, let alone owned. We thank God and you every day that he is part of our family.”

Talon at 3 years 2 months
“By the way, Talon is the most special, sweet, incredible, loving dog we have ever had.  Loved all our girls, but never have ad one this special – and for that, we are eternally grateful!!!!  We love him so much – and he is such good support for both of us.  Thank you for breeding such amazing dogs!”
Talon at 3 years
“Good morning, Grandma!! Here is my birthday picture.  I am quite the handsome three-year-old boy, aren’t I?”

Roxanne (Celhaus Turn On Your Red Light Roxanne) at 3 years 8 months
Roxanne is a Search & Rescue Dog, nationally certified in cadaver.
“Roxanne waiting her turn to search the FEMA rubble pile.  Recently, Roxanne helped find some bones in a creek from a person who went missing 4 years ago.  Very nice for the family. She is doing good work, and Ducati (YY litter) will soon!”

Roxanne at 3 years 2 months
“Roxanne showing Ducati (33 weeks old from the YY litter) how you participate in the Christmas Parade.”

Roxanne at 2 years 8 months
“Roxanne and I at National Night Out.  Roxanne got to meet members of the community.”

Kellan (Celhaus Truehearted Kellan NW2) at 3 years 8 months
6/3/24:  “No pics, but Kellan was in his first NW3 on Saturday. Very long hot day. This is a tough level. But we got a qualifying score. I was so close to calling finish on our last exterior and last search if the day and he showed interest and ther ewasn’t a hide there. In this level you can have 0 to 3 hides. Because of the difficulty, you can get 1 ‘No’. I hate that word. So for our first run we got a leg. So to get your NW3 Elite title you have to get 3 NW3s. I don’t trial in the summer so it will be fall before and hope there are some trials nearby.  All in all I’m very proud of my boy. Only 5 dogs titled and only 8 dogs got qualifying scores out of 38 dogs. Hopefully the next one we’ll have a title and a beautiful pic with our first of 3 titles.”
Kellan at 3 years 5 months
“We went to a sniff and go on Saturday that a friend of mine put on. Mary and Taryn were there too. It was in a church.  Here are some pics my friend took.”

at 3 years 5 months
“Kellan and I went to a USCSS scentwork trial yesterday. First trial of the season. He got his Advanced title. He did a super job. Another fun day with my wonderful dog.”

Kellan at 3 years 4 months
“Photos in the snow this morning.  Weatherman failed to mention we were going to get snow.”

Kellan at 3 years 1 month
“Kellan and his new little stepsister, Keira, 2 months old. He is so good with her.  And she loves him. I guess she’s hoping to stay.  Now he will have a friend closer in age.

Kellan at 3 years

Kellan at 2 years 11 months
“With everything going on here. I forgot to send you this beautiful picture of Kellan.  Kellan got his NW1 title in May. I wasn’t going to enter him in NACSW NW2 until spring of 2024. So last minute I decided to enter him. It was 2 hours away and I had friends entering too. It was a perfect day. Low clouds and cool. The searches weren’t easy, especially the exterior. It was a huge area to cover – find 3 hides in 3 minutes. Kellan did super. The last hide, the wind was coming towards him and he caught the scent and he nailed it. We had one more interior to do and he zoomed thru that one. We got the title. There were 36 dogs competing; only 10 dogs got their title. And my sweet Kellan was one of them. Love this boy.  Very proud of him.”

Kellan at 2 years 7 months
Photo 1:  “Yesterday we trialed at Genesee Community College in Batavia NY for United States Canine Scent Sports (USCSS). Kellan got his Detection Dog Intermediate Classic Title. 4 elements, 2 hides in each. His exterior search had a lot of things to check. One of the hides was on the ground under stones near a light pole, sneaky hide. Kellan found it without a problem. His other searches went very well.  We are a great team. So much fun doing stuff with him.  He also painted a flower with his footprint. A lot of the volunteers were vet tech students.  They were doing the pawprint flowers. Kellan was happy to help out with their program.”
Photo 2:  “Today Kellan trialed at another NACSW trial. It was a element specialty for his L1 interiors. 4 separate interior searches. Kellan had to qualify in all 4 searches to get his title. Another beautiful day with my boy. It’s so much fun doing things with him.”

Lucca (Celhaus Thankful in Montana) at 3 years 1 month
Name Story:  Lucca is a Military Service K9 who was trained to locate EIDs.  Top Dog is a book about her, written by her main and second handlers.  She was adopted by her main handler after an injury forced her retirement.
Here’s a photo of Lucca with Mom at Thanksgiving dinner this year.”

Kaia (Celhaus Trinity) at 3 years 3 months
(1/8/24):  “Since the passing of our older German Shepherd, Kaia has been getting lots of love & attention.  We try to take her everywhere and she is always up for a car ride.  She is still full of energy.  When the weather is good, she gets two walks a day.  Last weekend we reached out to Victoria Stees from K9 Revolution.  She is an accomplished trainer who also has a black German Shepherd and a couple of Belgium Malinois.  Her favorite breed is still the Shepherd.  She gave us a name of someone who does nose training in our area.  We learned a lot from her.  She loved Kaia and said she had good movement in her hips and was the perfect size.  I told her about you and how you prep your pups.  I think the nose work will be fun for Kaia and for me.  When the weather warms up, I will start hiding treats in the yard.”
Kaia at 3 years 1 month
“Kaia is really growing and maturing into a beautiful dog and companion.  We love our Kaia dog. She certainly keeps me in shape.  She can run and run.”

Kaia at 2 years 8 months
“The rain has brought out all the wildflowers.  She was ‘Miss Violet’ after all (puppy collar color).”

Kaia at 2 years 6 months
5/27/23:  “Kaia is doing well.  She loves going everywhere with us.  Now that we are settled (in a new larger, town), I am going to look for more training opportunities.”
Photo 1:  “Kaia is starting to look like a big girl.”
Photo 2:  “One of my favorites!”
Photo 3:  “Kaia just trying to stay cool.”
