Ellie (AAA litter, 2 years 2 months)
“The present Ellie’s cousins (Sadie and Chloe) didn’t arrive yet, so the dogs gave her a very adorable card.”

Raptor (ZZ litter, 2 years 5 months old)
Photo 1: Raptor was NOT pleased on December 19th when his mom sent this photo:  “Now isn’t that the happiest little GSD sunshine?  Those are not really soft, loving eyes…”
Photo 2:  He was happier in this photo on December 25th,, “I guess he would rather be a reindeer than my little ray of sunshine.”

Jamboree (JJ litter, 10 years) and Addy (AAA litter, 2 years 2 months)
“Merry Christmas, Gma, with giant GSD hugs and puppy kisses…  Love, Jamboree and Miss Addy.”

Rainey
(WW litter, 3 years 11 months)
“It took Rainey less than 5 minutes to tear apart the Charlie Brown toy Santa bought her for Christmas.”

Hyder
(HH litter, 11 years 6 months)
“Hyder exhausted from new chew toy!.”

Pascha on a Christmas Eve (morning) therapy dog visit to the VA.
I stopped by PetCo on Monday to see if they had any Christmas costumes, since I had used our “Christmas gift” costume everywhere this year.  I was amazed to find a cute Santa costume large enough to fit a German Shepherd – and it was on sale!

Jazz (UU litter, 4 years 11 months)

Quizz (QQ litter, 6 years 6 months)
“Quizz trying out the social media trend of animals with wrapping paper.   She thinks my antics are ridiculous.”

Jiva (YY litter, 2 years 9 months old)
“Merry Christmas!”

Ruger (RR litter, 6 years 6 months)
“Ruger is great! We went to the mountains to get our Christmas tree over Thanksgiving.  He loves mountain therapy.  He is so loved!”

Radik (RR litter, 6 years 6 months)
“More Christmas photos from Radik.”

12/17/25:  Hopeful helped with the VA Christmas party for the nursing home unit residents.   She had fun, though she commented that most people were too busy eating to come visit with her where our Kissing Booth was set up just outside the cafeteria.  She kept a close eye out for her friends in the crowd and enjoyed visiting with several.

The NN litter turned 8 years old on December 17th.
I always send an email wishing my pups a happy birthday and usually receive birthday photos.  It’s tough when your birthday is so close to Christmas and you have to take your birthday photos in front of the Christmas tree…

Willy (NN litter, 8 years)
“Happy birthday to the NN litter!  Willy is doing great and sending you much love!  Hope you are super well and enjoying the Christmas season.”

Credo (NN litter, 8 years)
“Credo and the NNs are 8!”

The JJ litter turned 10 years old on December 17th.
They also have to put up with having their birthday photos taken in front of the Christmas tree…

Jamboree (JJ litter, 10 years)
“She is not particularly pleased.  How dare I???”

Charis (10 years old, JJ litter, sable) and Breeze (2 years 6 months old, ZZ litter, black & tan)
“The furkidz look a little uncomfortable because they know to stay away from the tree. Good babies!  Breeze is totally obsessed with that yellow ball!  She drives us crazy with that thing.  She lives for it.  She starts first thing in the morning. We have to take it away & close the bedroom door when we go to bed.  She is relentless.”

Asher (AAA litter, 2 years 2 months)
“We were at class today when the instructor said, ‘Let’s take pictures!'”

Rainey (WW litter, 3 years 11 months) and Jazz (UU litter, 4 years 10 months)
“The ‘sisters’ got to hang out together for a while today.”

Asher (AAA litter, 2 years 2 months) and Radik (RR litter, 6 years 6 months)
“Merry Christmas from Asher & Radik.””

Kaia (TT litter, 5 years 2 months)
“Merry Christmas!  I just had a bath – aren’t I stunning???”

12/15/25:  Lovely wore our Christmas costume for Reading Dog at Tongue River Elementary.  The school has a gift shop set up where we usually meet, so we were in the front foyer.  We had lots of distractions, including a group of older kids who came to sing carols.

12/11/25:  Hopeful wore our Christmas costume for Reading Dog with the Holy Name School kindergarteners.  I’m friends with the grandmother of the last boy in these photos and texted his photos to her. Here’s what she told me later, “I forgot to tell you when I looked at the pics with Peter he said, ‘Nana, you didn’t say anything about the dog being all wrapped up?’  I said, ‘You mean cuz she’s on the blanket?’ He pointed it out to me and said, ‘She was wrapped up like a present!'”

Thanksgiving photos

Breeze (2 years 5 months old, ZZ litter, black & tan) and Charis (9 years 11 months old, JJ litter, sable)
“Hoping…”

I received these photos of two AAA litter pups (2 years 1 month old) waiting for something to happen on Thanksgiving.
First is Asher:  “Have a wonderfully relaxing Thanksgiving – like I am.”

Then Ellie:  “Good morning and happy thanksgiving.  I’ve spent more than a week preparing food for today’s gathering. Wish you could come.  Thank you for being you and all the hard work you do.  Here is Ellie currently waiting for me to get the morning started.”

Hyder
(HH litter, 11 years 5 months):
Photo 1:  “Hyder watching the Thanksgiving Day parades.”
Photo 2:  “Hyder watching the big Thanksgiving Day dog show.”

Rainn (HH litter, 11 years 5 months):
Unfortunately, Rainn died just before Thanksgiving.

Lando (NN litter, 7 years 11 months old)
Lando cuddling with ‘his’ girl as she watches the dog show on Thanksgiving Day.

Leidy (OO litter, 6 years 3 months)
“Leidy says Happy Thanksgiving.”

Cash
(QQ litter, 6 years 10 months)
Cash impatiently waited for his turkey feast and then PLAYTIME.
See all the toys he’s brought to the door?

Jax (TT litter, 5 years 1 month)
“Happy Thanksgiving!”

Kellan (TT litter, 5 years 1 month)
“Kellan relaxing after the feast.”

Talon (TT litter, 5 years 1 month)
“Happy Thanksgiving!  Talon says hey Grandma…eat lots of turkey for me.  Mom only lets me eat my dog food.  I am having a little remodel done on a room, and every single person that has come in for that, can’t get over what a calm, well behaved GSD he is!! Most have never met one like him…still a wonderful source of comfort for me and still watches over Steve always.”

Porter (WW litter, 3 years 10 months)
“Happy Thanksgiving! I got married a couple weeks ago. Hope all is well.“

Degen (XX litter, 3 years 4 months)
“Happy Thanksgiving.”

My therapy dogs had fun with our turkey costume.
We actually got photos at two schools and one nursing home!

My Hopeful (5 years 6 months old, SS litter) had fun wearing the costume during Reading Dog with the Holy Name School kindergarteners. Four kids get to read to her each time.  I love it when they can’t let go of their trading cards.  They get one each time they do Reading Dog.

My Justice (4 years 5 months old) wore it on a visit to Westview Healthcare Center.

My Lovely (LL litter, 9 years 9 months old) wore it to Reading Dog at Tongue River Elementary. This was the first time at Reading Dog for several kids who are in Kinderboost (they will be in Kindergarten next year) and they were fascinated by the trading cards they received for coming.
